SMEDAN Trains, Empowers 715 Youths Across Nigeria On Diverse Skills.

In line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda in the area of capacity building and job creation, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency, SMEDAN has trained seven hundred fifteen youths in different trade fields across the thirty six states and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Director-General, SMEDAN, Charles Odii, who disclosed this at the closing ceremony of the agency’s National Business Skills Development Initiative in Abuja said the empowerment was done to address the huge unemployment gap.

He said the training which took place concurrently in thirteen states of the federation, with fifty five participants from each state, will leave no one behind, especially the youth, women and Persons With Disabilities, PWDs.

The SMEDAN boss also called for both local and International collaborations to enable the agency to reach out to more beneficiaries.

Minister of State for Youth, Ayodele Olawande, urged the participants to make judicious use of their training by becoming employers of labour.

High point of the occasion was the presentation of certificates and starter packs to the participants.
