President Bola Tinubu will declare open the 15th conference of the African Academy of Sciences (AAS) scheduled for December 2024 in Abuja.
Secretary General of the Academy, Prof Friday Okonofua disclosed this at a news conference in Abuja.
The Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology said the conference which will bring together about 1000 outstanding thinkers and stakeholders from across the world is expected to reposition Africa to a new way of thinking about science and leveraging on it’s Potentials to achieve true greatness.
Prof Okonofua further revealed that recent scientific discoveries and innovations by scientists will be unveiled and discussed at the biennial conference.
The conference which will feature dignitaries like Prof Akinwumi Adesina, president of the African development bank, Prof Patrick Lumumba from Kenya and a host of others has as it theme ” Empowering and Advancing Africa’s Scientific Enterprise”.
