FG Remains Committed To Addressing Housing Deficit – Osinbajo

Statistics from the World Bank shows that it will cost about 59.5 trillion Naira to fund the current housing deficit in Nigeria. With this statistics in mind, stakeholders in the housing sector converged on Abuja for the 16th annual Africa International Housing Show with the aim of proffering solutions on how government at all levels can tackle the challenge.

Speaking at the event, vice president of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo who was represented by Femi Adewale acknowledged the problems posed by housing deficit in Nigeria, saying that the federal government is not relenting but has put measures in place to address the challenges.

The coordinator of the Africa International Housing Show, Festus Adebayo and other stakeholders agreed that government must provide the enable environment for private investors to bridge the gap in making housing affordable to all Adebayo further disclosed that the event will afford investors, innovators, inventors, members of the Organized Private Sector and relevant stakeholders the opportunity to share ideas and also to explore more ways to appraise the role of government in sustainable housing delivery.

The 3-day Housing Show has its theme as “Housing For All: The Role of Government in Creating an Effective Enabling Environment”
