Dangote’s Claim: Group Demands Probe Of Alleged Corruption In NNPCL.
A Coalition of Civil Society Organizations, Community leaders, have called for the sack of Mele Kyari, Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited.
This is as they also demanded for investigation on allegations raised by the president of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote against the NNPCL management.
The Coalition which comprises of the leadership of, Civil Society Network on Economic and Social Advancement, Arewa Transformational Leaders, Afenefere Intelligence, Nzuko Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo and Christians and Muslims Leaders of Nigeria, made the call at a joint press conference in Abuja.
The Convener of the group, Ndubisi Nworu, warned against sweeping the issues raised by Dangote under the carpet, saying Nigerians deserve transparency and integrity in the management of the nations resources.
The Coalition also carpeted the NNPCL for persistent fuel scarcity that has plagued the nation in the last 2 years of Mele Kyari’s reign, a factor they attributed to mismanagement and lack of transparency in the system.
They further disclosed plans to embark on protest at the National Assembly and NNPCL headquarters next week to demand for change and accountability. End.
