The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has inaugurated the national convention organizing committee for election of the party’s executive officers. PDP Acting National Chairman Yemi Akinwonmi who inaugurated the committee at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja tasked the members to organize nothing less than a successful national elective convention. Answering questions from journalists, the chairman of the committee, Ahmadu Fintiri dismissed any possibility of shift in the October date slated for the convention. He further assured that members of the committee are prepared to handle the intrigue of consensus candidacy and unity list. Other members of the committee are the Governors of Bayelsa and Oyo States Duoye Diri and Seyi Makinde who serve as deputy chairman and secretary respectively. Also former governors elected on the platform of the PDP, ex- Ministers as well as serving and former members of the National Assembly are members of the committee.
