Over 500,000 bottles of codeine is estimated to be consumed daily by young Nigerians across the country. The situation which is fast assuming a worrisome development may not be unconnected to reasons why the Federal Government this year ban the importation of codeine and other related products in the country. The government also went a step further to inaugurate the General Buba Mariwa led Presidential Advisory Committee on Elimination of drug abuse with the mandate to deal with the solution.
