Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) says $2.5Bn has been generated on the export of non-oil products from January to June this year.
The Executive Director, NEPC, Ezra Yakusak disclosed this in Abuja at a news conference in preparation of the agency’s forth-coming Export Week.
Dr. Yakusak who noted that the amount was the highest in the last four years said Nigeria needs to embrace the export of non-oil products to guarantee its economic growth and development.
He also said over 2, 000 new companies were registered by between January and June for the purpose of non-oil export.
The Executive Director, however, noted that measures are in place to sustain and deepen the export non-oil ecosystem.
