Residents and businesses in parts of Akwa Ibom State are expected to experience a temporary disruption in electricity supply following scheduled maintenance on the Uyo-Itu 132kV transmission line by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
In a notice issued on Saturday, October 31, 2026, TCN announced that its maintenance crew would carry out the exercise between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The maintenance is expected to affect the ability of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) to receive electricity for onward distribution to customers in Eket, Ikot Abasi, Etinan, Ikot Ekpene, Onna and Uyo Complex.
TCN apologised to electricity consumers in the affected communities for the inconvenience the scheduled maintenance would cause.
The company said the exercise was part of its maintenance activities on the transmission network.
