Breaking: Over 160 FG Agencies Fail To Submit 2017 Financial Report- Group.

A coalition of civil society organisations have raised alarm over the Fragrant disregard of the constitutional provisions governing the audit process by public institutions. Findings from the 2017 annual audit report of ministries, departments and agencies as published by the office of the Auditor General of the Federation reveals that over 160 parastatals failed to submit their financial statements. The report further indicates that 11 agencies have never submitted their financial audited report since their inception. Addressing the media in Abuja, the Group described the development as unacceptable saying it is a clear indictment on the national assembly, budget office and national planning as complicit to the fraud. They however demanded for the names of the defaulting agencies to be published with full investigation by antigraft agencies. The group also want president Buhari to come up with reforms aimed at further sanitising the nation’s public institutions.
