Respite will soon come the way of the residents and indigenes of Notore, Free Zone, Ikpokiri Island in Onne, Rivers State, as the Federal Government has finalised plans for the resuscitation and rehabilitation of a three point five kilometre dual carriageway and the construction of of a link bridge. This was made know at the National Council on Industry Trade and Investment meeting in Uyo Akwa Ibom State Capital. The decision according to the council was reached due to the strategic position of Notori Oil and Gas Free Zone to the realisation of the government’s Zero Crude Oil export revenue goal set for free zone with the targeted Investment draw-downs estimated to worth about five point three five billion dollars in the next five years. The award for the construction of the Ikpokiri link bridge was approved during the 9th NCITI meeting in Sokoto State while all preliminary engineering studies has been concluded.
