Group Dismisses INEC Bias Allegations, Links ADC Crisis To Internal Struggles

The Tinubu Stakeholders Forum (TSF) has rejected allegations of bias against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) made by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, describing the claims as unfounded and politically motivated.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Ahmad Sajoh, and Secretary, Danjuma Sada, the group accused the two politicians of attempting to manipulate public opinion ahead of the 2027 general election.
TSF said the allegations of interference against Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were false and reflected a pattern of discrediting institutions when outcomes do not favour political interests.

According to the group, the ongoing issues within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are internal and legal matters currently before the courts, noting that INEC’s actions are in compliance with judicial directives.

The forum also questioned the credibility of Atiku and Tambuwal, citing their past records in public office and governance.

On the crisis within the ADC, TSF attributed the situation to internal power struggles, alleging that long standing members of the party were being sidelined by new entrants seeking to advance personal political ambitions.

The statement described the development as a “political hijack” and criticised what it called a growing trend of treating political parties as vehicles for individual ambitions rather than democratic institutions.

The group urged Nigerians to disregard what it termed misleading narratives and called on political actors to respect the rule of law by allowing the courts to resolve the ADC leadership dispute.

TSF also cautioned against inflammatory rhetoric, warning that such statements could undermine public trust in democratic institutions.
