Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have received a senior Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) finance operative, along with 46 other insurgents and their family members, following ongoing military offensives in the North East.
The high-profile operative surrendered around 6:45 a.m. on July 25, 2026, to troops from the 3 Battalion, 24 Task Force Brigade, along the Ladari–Jegarawa–Tunokalia axis on the Gamboru–Wulgo Main Supply Route.
He surrendered alongside two male children.Preliminary profiling identified the individual as the chief finance operative for the ISWAP enclave in Jubillaram, where he managed the group’s financial transactions and logistics network.
Troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, four magazines, 101 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, a motorcycle, and ₦40,000 from the operative.According to military authorities, the surrender follows coordinated air and land strikes targeting terrorist strongholds across the region.
The high-profile defect, along with the recent surrender of 46 other terrorists and their dependents, points to growing pressure on the insurgent group’s command structure and supply lines.
In a statement signed by Capt. Mohammed Goni, Acting Military Information Officer for Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, the military confirmed that the operative is undergoing detailed profiling and interrogation to yield actionable intelligence for ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
The Theatre Command reiterated its call for remaining insurgents to surrender through the Federal Government’s non-kinetic programs, while encouraging the public to continue sharing timely information with security forces.
