An All Progressives Congress, APC Adamawa State Governorship aspirant Abdulrahman Haske has lauded the practical implementation of the “Not Too Young To Run” Act, citing a 50% reduction in his nomination fees as evidence of the country’s evolving democratic landscape.
The beneficiary disclosed that he received a 20 million Naira discount on his expression of interest and nomination forms, a move he credited to the party’s commitment to youth inclusion and the tireless efforts of the bill’s original advocates.
Commitment to Democratic Process
The aspirant used the platform to dispel widespread rumors from the preceding 48 hours, which suggested the party would favor a single consensus candidate. He praised the President for ensuring a competitive environment.
”Today, he has proven to the world that he is a true democrat,” the aspirant said. “He has shown leadership by allowing everybody to participate and show their strength.”
He further extended appreciation to the National Working Committee (NWC) and the party’s administrative organs for maintaining a smooth and transparent process.
Beyond Participation: A National Call to Youth
While the aspirant’s primary focus remains on his constituency in Adamawa State, he addressed a message to the broader Nigerian youth population, urging them to shift from spectators to active competitors.
Financial Inclusion: The ₦20 million waiver was cited as a “reality” of the bill’s success.
Leadership Readiness: The aspirant asserted that young Nigerians possess the capacity to lead and are prepared for the rigors of the upcoming primaries.

”My advice to all Nigerian youth—not just in Adamawa—is that everybody should participate. Participation alone is not enough; we should compete as well and show our strength.”
