2027: Women Task Tinubu On 35 Percent Affirmative Action.

Ahead of the 2027 General elections, the passage of bills that sought to promote more opportunities for women in politics, governance and society has once again been re- emphasized.

Other demands include the need for President Tinubu to include more women in governance, especially elective and appointive Positions among others.

This was the fulcrum of a one-day programme tagged “Women for 35 percent Quota”,an initiative of the Aju Elumelu foundation held in Abuja.

According to the founder of the foundation, Ambassador Aju Elumelu, the advocacy intends to create a more inclusive and representative government that ensures women’s perspectives and needs are considered in policy decisions.

Other speakers including the National women leader of the labour party, Dudu Manuga on their part insist on legislation for 35 percent quota for female representation in politics.


Meanwhile, the National chairman of Labour Party, Bar Julius Abure in his thoughts welcomed the agitation for 35 percent affirmative action, saying women should not be deprived of the chance to lead and contribute fully to the nations democratic process.

Other takeaways from the ceremony include the recognition and presentation of awards to the LP chairman, Julius Abure and others for promoting gender inclusivity.
