The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), formally welcomed the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Richard Pheelangwah, following his reinstatement by the Federal Government after the lifting of his suspension.
Speaking during the reception, Pheelangwah expressed appreciation for the opportunity to resume duty and pledged to carry out his responsibilities with renewed dedication, professionalism and commitment to national service.
Musa congratulated the Permanent Secretary on his return and expressed confidence in their cordial working relationship.
He stressed the need to build on the existing synergy within the ministry to advance its mandate.
The minister said collaboration and continuity in leadership remained important to the effective functioning of the ministry and the attainment of Nigeria’s defence and security objectives.
The occasion also reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to institutional continuity and effective service delivery in the pursuit of its core responsibilities.
