The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced an eight hour planned power outage in Kubwa and other parts of Abuja on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, to enable maintenance work at its Kubwa 132/33kV Substation.
The maintenance exercise, scheduled for 10:00am to 6:00pm, will involve the replacement of a faulty 33kV NIPP feeder circuit breaker and a punctured yellow phase current transformer.
According to TCN, the work will affect electricity supply to customers in Kubwa, Bwari, Army Resettlement, parts of Dutse Alhaji and adjoining areas.
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to take electricity supply from the substation to customers in the affected areas during the maintenance period.
TCN said the exercise is necessary to replace the faulty equipment and improve the reliability of the substation.
The transmission company apologised to electricity customers in the affected communities for any inconvenience caused by the planned maintenance.
