The Nigeria Immigration Service has directed its Zonal Heads, State Command Comptrollers and Divisional Officers across the country to be intensify its vigilance and surveillance in order to prevent foreign elements take advantage of the protest to destabilise the country.
In a statement signed by the Service Public Relation Officer, Deputy Comptroller of Immigration Kenneth Udo, and made available to Channel Network Afrique, CNA, the Comptroller General of Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, said, in keeping with the responsibility of safeguarding the nation’s gateways placed on the shoulders of the Service, officers especially Heads of Border Commands, are tasked to rise to the occasion.
The Comptroller General according to the statement directs temporary suspension of Leave applications as she charges officers to exercise utmost professionalism and patriotism in the discharge of their duties during and after the protest.
She however, assured Nigerians of the Service’s preparedness to safeguard the Nation’s Borders towards enhancing national Security.
