The Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund, has emphasized the need for polytechnics across the country to embark on quality research proposals that would translate into commercial and innovative use.
Executive Secretary of TETFund, Arc. Sonny Echono, stated this in Abuja at an interactive meeting with Rectors and Directors of Research of Polytechnics on National Research Fund, NRF, grants.
Echono who lamented the huge shortage of skills in critical sectors of the nation’s economy, expressed the Funds commitment to change the narrative.
Earlier, the Director, Executive Secretary’s Office, Arc. Uchendu Wogu, called on the polytechnics to rise to the challenge of producing quality research proposals.
Meanwhile, the Executive Secretary, National Board For Technical Education (NBTE), Prof. Idris Bugaje in his remarks stressed the need for a synergy between polytechnics and universities on Innovative research.
The stakeholders further called on the nations polytechnics to rise up to the challenge of producing quality research proposals that will translate to national growth and development.
