The Inter Party Advisory Council IPAC has called for a review in the processes for appointing Resident Electoral Commissioner’s of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.
The Council at the end of its general meeting held at it’s Secretariat in Abuja wants the power to make such appointment to rest on INEC.
Briefing journalist on resolutions reached at the meeting, IPAC Chairman Engr Yagbaji Sani who blamed some of the flaws of the 2023 general elections on human factor said the errors contravenes the supposed neutrality of INEC.
The Council further demanded the uprightness of the judiciary in dispensing several petitions bothering on the conduct of the polls.
IPAC also condemned the violence, killings, arson, kidnapping of electoral officers, intimidation and suppression of voters that characterized the 2023 General Election and called for immediate prosecution of electoral offenders and their sponsors.
