As part of measures to compliment government’s efforts to curb corrupt practices in Nigeria, a faith based organization, Priests Peace and Justice Initiative (PPJ) has organized a one-day summit on Ministers Against corruption and consolidating SHUN Corruption project.
Speaking at the event in Abuja, the General Overseer PPA, Otive Igbuzor, said time has come for the Church to take the lead in the anti-corruption war, charging religious bodies particularly the Pentecostal to help in the implementation of the fight against corruption in the country.
Igbuzor, further noted that corruption has eaten deep into the nation’s fabric with serious negative consequences despite many legislations initiated to end the menace.
In his part, the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State branch, Rev Joseph Hayab, said despite the fact that corruption has eaten virtually every facet of Nigeria that one key institution that can fight the menace is the religious institution.
