The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says 1,906,390 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), representing 81.50 per cent of the 2,339,233 registered voters in Osun State, have been collected ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

The commission disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday by Mohammed Kudu Haruna, National Commissioner and Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee.

According to INEC, 432,843 PVCs, representing 18.50 per cent of registered voters, remain uncollected and have been deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in line with the commission’s established practice.

The commission also said some registered voters whose PVCs were damaged, defaced or lost applied for replacements, adding that 6,101 applicants printed downloadable copies of their PVCs.

INEC said it had published a polling-unit-by-polling-unit table of the collected PVCs on its official website.

The commission reassured political parties, civil society organisations, the media and residents of Osun State of its readiness to conduct a free, fair, credible, transparent and inclusive governorship election on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
