The Lawmaker representing Ekiti Central in the National Assembly, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele has indicated interest to contest the 2022 Ekiti state Governorship election. The Senator was at the APC headquarters alongside 21 of his colleagues to pick the Governorship nomination form. Speaking with newsmen,the Lawmaker said having transversed the three arms of government, he has what it takes to lead the southwest state. He further used the occasion to debunked insinuations of concensus candidate saying the ruling party won’t have thrown the race open for all aspirants. Senator Bamidele also spoke on his relationship with Governor Kayode Fayemi who he said has done well for the people of the state. The lawmaker also defended the input of the National assembly as it relates to the electoral bill,saying whatever decision the president takes will amount to what is good for Nigeria. With this development, Bamidele joins former Ekiti State Secretary of State Biodun Oyebanji as aspirants that have so far collected Governorship nomination forms on the platform of the APC.
