CSO’s Advocate Tolerance As Panacea To Insecurity.
The International day of Tolerance is commemorated every November 16 annually to create public awareness on the dangers of intolerance. The day is set aside to to ensure people are aware of the negativity that stems from intolerance. As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to observe the day, a coalition of civil society organizations under the leadership of Adams Otakwu wants Nigerians to indulge in tolerance as part of efforts to entrench lasting peace and socio economic development in Nigeria. He further advanced reasons to reinvent Nigeria inline with the dreams of it’s founding fathers. Participants at the conference in their remarks expressed optimism in the greatness of the nation if the concept of tolerance is adopted by all Nigerians. The international day for Tolerance was started by the United Nations to seek the commitment of educational institutions and the general public to see tolerance as a sample of society.
