Weight and Measures could simply be defined as a uniform standards of measurement for quantity, capacity, volume, or dimensions of any goods and services. This key component of international quality assurance has being a major toll that drives most of the global economy due to its huge potential in revenue generation in every sector of the economy be it formal or informal. But the situation is different in Nigeria as weight and Measures is just a struggling department in its Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment with weak and porous outdated legislations that needs urgent attention.
