Without the gathering of statistics about the number of people living in a place at a particular period of time,it would be impossible to compare socio-cultural, economic,social and demographic changes. While this assertion reflects the importance of census,the United Nations further recommended the conduct of the exercise every ten years. The synario is different in Nigeria, as only a few census exercise have been conducted in the country since 1960. Worried about this development, the National Population Commission says it is committed to change the narrative.
