Breaking: Tanko Muhammad Sworn In As CJN
President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn in Justice Tanko Muhammad as the Chief Justice of Nigeria. The swearing-in ceremony was held at the council chamber of the Presidential Villa in the nation’s capital. Justice Muhammad, a justice of the Supreme Court, was cleared by the Senate earlier, after his name was submitted to the lawmakers by President Muhammadu Buhari. President Buhari nominated Tanko as CJN following, a recommendation by the National Judicial Council. The new CJN, was earlier appointed in acting capacity following the suspension of Justice Walter Onnoghen, the former CJN in January.
