Eid-el- Kabir is a sacred month in Islam that symbolises the willingness of prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ishmael as an act of obedience to God’s command. Speaking with Channel Network Afrique on the significance of the the occasion, the Chairman, Committee of Federal Capital Territory Imams Initiative, Tajudeen Adigun explains that it goes beyond slaughtering of rams but a demonstration of one’s faith in Allah. The cleric noted that Prophet Ibrahim’s attempt to sacrifice his only son, as instructed by Allah, exemplifies fear, reverence and complete obedience to his will. Adigun also shared his thoughts on the nations security concerns, admonishing Nigerians to assist security agencies with relevant information. The Cleric further urged Nigerians irrespective of ethnic and religious affiliations to show love to one another as commanded by God,saying the gesture will enhance peaceful coexistence in the country.
