The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has warned against persecution of Fulani pastorates , especially in the southern part of the country. This is as the group also expressed sadness over the continued sidelining,abuse of foundamental rights and constant massacre of Fulani pastorists by individuals it referred to as misguided tribal champion with mission to year the nation apart. Rising from it’s 2 days critical meeting in Abuja , National president of MACBAN , Alhaji Mohammadu Kiruwa said over 16,000 pastorates including women and children have been killed from January 2021 to date with cattle’s worth over 10 billion naira rustled by criminal elements. On the way forward, Kiruwa said the meeting considered various recommendations including urgent review of anti open grazing Law by some states government’s The Group further indicated need for the federal government to revitalize and expand the over 5 million hectares of abandoned grazing reserves across the northern part of the country which it noted will minimize the activities of pastorates as well as set the pace for creation of ranches in the near future.
