AfCFTA Our Goal But Take Covid-19 Vaccine, ECOWAS Speaker Urges Member Nations
On January 1, 2021, African countries officially opened its markets and borders for trading under the continental free trade agreement.
In spite of the shaky start as a result of the covid-19 pandemic, some countries’ economic policies and scepticism in some quarter, Parliamentarians from the Economic Community of West States are bent on ensuring that member nations are not short-changed.
Addressing selected journalists in the Nigeria’s capital city Abuja, Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, Sidie Mohammed Tunis said efforts are in top gear to make sure that the sub-region is not at disadvantage in anyway in the AfCFTA.
He also called on the ECOWAS members to avail themselves to be immunise with the covid-19 vaccine.
The Speaker, however, commended Nigerian Parliamentarians led by the Deputy Speaker, Ahmed Wase for their commitments, robust and constructive contributions in recent times.
