This is the Federal Secretariat Complex ,Maitama Abuja housing a branch of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). As expected, Nigerians in their hundreds are on ground at the premises waiting patiently for their National Identification Number NIN registration. The footage from the video no doubt indicates that the process is rowdy and the crowd not complying with the covid19 protocols. However, for these enrolees,their utmost priority is to meet the February 9th deadline for the exercise. Some of them criticised the decentralisation of registration centres for the exercise saying it was not done in good faith. While most of the enrolees wants the deadline for the exercise extended, sources from the federal government indicates that that 48 million NIN have so far been linked to SIM cards as at 8th of January 2021.
