Over 47.8million NIN Linked To Mobile Phones – Pantami
The Federal Government has applauded the Commitment demonstrated by all stakeholders and citizens in the ongoing National Identity Number registration across the country
This is as the latest data reported by the Nigerian communication Commission indicates that a total of 47.8 million NIN have been so far collected by telecommunication companies.
Minister of communication and digital economy and chairman ministerial taskforce, Dr. Isa Pantami who gave the indication at the end of a review meeting of the technical implementation committee expressed optimism that several millions of SIM will be linked up before the deadine in February 2021.
Expressing satisfaction with the achievement, the Minister called on Nigerians to submit their NINs before 9th February 2021 deadline.
He urged the technical team to fast track the processes so that the project is delivered soonest.
Dr. Pantami further reminded Nigerians to secure their NINs, urging subscribers to desist from selling or allowing others to use them for registration.
The Minister also warned that any action committed with the SIM, whether good or bad would be officially traced and attached to the NIN owner.
