The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Benin Sub-Region has received a truckload of transmission equipment spares and maintenance materials from the company’s Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) in Abuja.
The consignment, delivered on Monday, 2 November 2026, includes 330kV and 132kV tripping coils, rapid pressure relays, current transformer (CT) ratio clamps, gantry structures and porcelain insulators.
According to TCN, the materials have been offloaded and secured in the sub-region’s store for deployment when required.
The company said the delivery will enhance the sub-region’s capacity to carry out both routine and emergency maintenance activities across its network.
The availability of the spares is expected to improve response time to equipment faults, reduce downtime and strengthen the reliability of power transmission within the region.
TCN added that the equipment will support more efficient delivery of bulk electricity to the load centres of Distribution Companies served by the Benin Sub-Region.
