As the Nigerian troops continue to intensify onslaught against the Boko Haram sect, 86 more Child Fighters have voluntarily surrendered to troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, bringing the number of repentant terrorists to over 1,370. According to the acting Director, defense information, Colonel Onyema Nwachukwu, the child fighters have been handed over to the Borno state government to undergo a comprehensive 6 months child care Programme of deradicalization, rehabilitation, and Re-integration at the Bulumkutu rehabilitation center in Borno State. The Defence High Command while restating commitment to ensure there is no hiding place for terrorists in the country however called on other insurgents to lay down arms and surrender to the Nigerian troops
