Nigeria Commiserates With Iran Over President Ebrahim Raisi’s Death

The Nigerian government has commiserates with the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran over
the death of its President, Ebrahim Raisi.

The late Iranian President and some top government officials including the Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian died in a tragic helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan Province on Sunday 19th May, 2024.

A statement signed by the Spokesperson Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Eche Abu-Obe and made available to Channel Network Afrique, CNA, said Nigeria is deeply saddened by the tragic incident, which represents a huge loss not only to the Iranian people, but to the world at large.

The statement said, Nigeria stands in solidarity with Iran in its trying times as well as extends its heartfelt condolences to the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the families of the departed and the people of Iran.
