Scores of youths from Kogi State have condemned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for dragging former Governor Yahaya Bello’s children into public ridicule.
The Youths who staged a solidarity walk in Abuja, brandishing placards with various inscriptions faulted the manner the alleged corruption case against the former Governor was being handled by the anti graft agency.
Addressing the gathering, President, Kogi Independent Youths Association, Comrade Mohammed Abdulrazak raised concerns that despite the fact that the children had nothing to do with whatever the commission was investigating their parents for, they had become subject of discourse in the alleged corruption case.
The Youths further argued that former Governor Yahaya Bello has not been shown any fairness, especially as due process as established by law in any corruption trial has been breached by the EFCC.
Stated that the rally is the first in the series of actions to be initiated until justice is served, the Youths indicated plans to present their grievances to the National Human Rights Commission for appropriate intervention aimed at protecting the rights of the innocent children who have been dragged into the political war by the EFCC.
