Leaked Audio: Protect Customers’ Privacy, Group Tells Telecommunication Companies.

A Civil Society Organisation under the auspices of the Global Network for Sustainable Development has called on telecommunications companies in Nigeria to rise up to their responsibility and protect customers’ privacy.

Convener of the Group, Ambassador Phil Roberts made the call at a press Conference in Abuja few days after a purported leaked audio conversation between the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi and the founder of the Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo.

Amb Roberts who alleged that the leaked audio was a shambolic blackmail by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC ) to distract the challenge of their victory at the polls said such act is a breach of citizens right and privacy.

He further called on the Labour Party Presidential Candidate to press charges against those who leaked the doctored telephone conversation.

The Group also condemned the Director,New Media APC Presidential Campaign Council, Femi Fani Kayode for calling former Governor Peter Obi a master terrorist saying such utterances are not healthy for the nations democracy.
