The Defence headquarters says it’s troops arrested 25 armed thugs and recovered weapons during the 18th March Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections in Rivers, Kwara and Lagos State.
This was disclosed by the Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami at a press briefing at the Defence headquarters in Abuja to update Nigerians on the strides recorded by the military from 9th-23rd March 2023.
Gen Danmadami noted that the cooperation of the Armed Forces with other security agencies during the polls averted the wide spread of violence in the country.
He also highlighted the interventions of troops of Operation Hadin Kai within the period under review.
Activities of troops of Operation Awatse in conjunction with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Lagos state was also mentioned at the briefing.
The Military spokesman further reintegrated the commitment of the nations armed Forces to a peaceful and secured Nigeria saying collaboration with other security agencies is yielding the desired result.
