The Federal Government says it will continue to provide conducive environment for person’s with disabilities to realize their potentials.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development,Hajiya Sadia Farouq made the commitment at a press conference to commomerate the 2022 international day of persons with disabilities in Abuja.
Represented by the National Coordinator Social investment program,Umar Bindir, the Minister said, the day is celebrated to awaken the consciousness of citizens,mobilize support,encourage and promote activities that support persons with disabilities.
Bindir however made case for adequate implementation of the domestication and discrimination against persons with disabilities Act especially in the areas of accessibility, advocacy and sensitization.
Meanwhile,, the Executive Secretary National commission for persons with disability James Lalu on his part commended the Buhari led Administration for identifying with the challenges of persons with disabilities.
The Theme for this year’s International Day of persons with disabilities is “Transformative Solutions for inclusive development:The role of innovation in fuelling an accessible world”
