EcoParl Commends Togo’s In Peace Talk In Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea

Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, Sidie Mohamed Tunis, has commend the Togolese President, Faure Gnassingbe, for the important role he is playing to promote peace, security and development in West Africa.

He disclosed this in an interview with newsmen shortly after his engagement with the President at the Presidential Palace in Lome the capital of Togo.

The Speaker who harped on the existing cordial relationship between the ECOWAS Parliament and the Republic of Togo as well as prospects for further consolidation said some of the issues discussed was geared towards the restoration of stability in Mali, Guinea and Burkina Faso.

The Togolese President, Faure Gnassingbe who spoke off camera, stressed the need for cooperation among member states to derive acceptable solutions for West Africa urged leaders not to work on cross purposes for the sake of peace and security in the region.
