The Federal Government has threatened to prosecute about twenty thousand Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the manufacturing value chain for contract breach after being paid mobilisation fee.
The Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment, Mariam Katagum disclosed this at the MSME Survival Fund and the Guarantee Off-Take Scheme Beneficiary Town-hall Meeting in Abuja.
She said the beneficiaries under the Guaranteed Offtake Scheme, failed to supply the items to cushion the impact of the Corona Virus Pandemic thereby negating the bonds they signed with the Federal Government.
The Special Assistant to the President on MSMEs, Tola Johnson and stakeholders reel out the success story of the scheme. Some beneficiaries spoke at the occasion.
At the close of the scheme, over one point two million small businesses across the country benefitted from different tracks of the Survival Fund and Guarantee Off-Take Scheme.
