NPC Solicit Army’s Support To Achieve Credible Census.

As part of effort to ensure the conduct of a credible 2023 Housing and Population Census, the National Population Commission is exploring collaboration with the Nigerian Army.

The Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwuin a press release indicated that the NPC boss Hon. Nasiru Isa Kwarra made the appeal at a courtesy call on the Chief Of Army Staff  Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya in Abuja.

According to him, Hon Kwarra said the visit was informed by need to engage major stakeholders  in the conduct of seamless census exercise and to create awareness on the forth coming National census slated for 2023.

He noted that the Census will unearth the demographic data needed to address the security challenges bedeviling the nation which is in line with the vision of the Commission.
 kwarra further statedthat the Commission aspires to meet the data needs of all end users and ensure a robust and quality populationfor national transformation and global competitiveness. 

He lauded troops of the NA for their effort in ongoing campaign against security challenges in the country.  In his response, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya who noted that adequate census data was essential forplanning socio economic development of the country,  added that the NA will not hesitate in providing security for government agencies to enable them perform their national obligations.
Present at the event were Principal Staff Officers of the Army Headquarters and Commissioners from the National Population Commission.ReplyForward
