The President, Vision Africa, Bishop Sunday Onuoha has described the menace of insecurity challenges ocassioned by activities of Bandits and kidnappers in the country as possible threats to the 2023 general elections.
The cleric gave the indication at a two days Inclusive Security Dialogue, organized by Vision Africa and Global Peace Foundation in Abuja.
He urged the government to do the needful as well as initiate measures that will curb other possible threats to the peaceful conduct of the poll.
Bishop Onuoha further canvassed reasons to shun ethnic sentiments and religious fanaticism in ensuring the nation gets it right especially as the stage is set for electioneering campaigns.
The occasion was attended virtually by the President of the Global Peace Foundation, Jim Flynn, who in his remarks emphasised the need for national interest to top efforts geared towards achieving peaceful coexistence.
Other speakers took turns to speak on the relevance of conducting a peaceful and transparent 2023 general elections.
The theme of the event is: Steps to violent free elections.
