Former vice-presidential candidate, Datti Baba Ahmed, says the Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, is poised to take over leadership at all levels of government in the 2027 general elections.
Baba Ahmed stated this during a formal visit to the PRP National Secretariat in Abuja, where he expressed confidence in the party’s readiness to form governments at the federal, state, and legislative levels.
He added that the party is prepared to resist electoral malpractice and ensure credible elections.
Speaking on his decision to join the party, he described leadership as critical to national development, while raising concerns over alleged moves by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to weaken opposition parties.
Earlier, PRP National Chairman, Hakeem Baba Ahmed, welcomed Datti Baba Ahmed, describing his defection as a major step toward repositioning Nigeria’s political future ahead of 2027.

The chairman also expressed confidence in the party’s ability to win elections either independently or in alliance with other political groups, emphasizing that the PRP remains open to strategic collaborations aimed at delivering change.
