The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Segun Aina, has directed staff to prioritise candidate welfare and rebuild public trust, declaring that every interaction with candidates must help reduce the frustration associated with accessing the Board’s services.

Aina made the declaration on Friday, August 14, 2026, during his maiden official visit to some of JAMB’s outstation offices, where he engaged staff, assessed operations and listened to challenges affecting service delivery.

The Registrar said his administration would make customer oriented service delivery a central pillar of the Board’s operations, promising to deploy innovative strategies and appropriate technologies to improve services and enhance candidates’ experience.

According to him, JAMB must adapt its operations to meet the changing expectations of its clientele, particularly Generation Z candidates, who constitute a significant segment of those accessing the Board’s services.

“We must all come together to build trust and reduce trauma,” Aina said.

He stressed that every contact between a candidate and JAMB presented an opportunity to strengthen confidence in the Board’s processes, urging staff to be courteous, responsive, professional and solution driven.

Aina also assured staff that management would provide the tools, training and institutional support required to enable them deliver efficient and effective services.

He charged employees to embrace teamwork, resilience and adaptability, saying the rapidly changing service environment required personnel who could respond effectively to emerging challenges and customer expectations.

The Registrar expressed appreciation to staff for the reception accorded him and said his engagement with the outstations was aimed at gaining first hand knowledge of their operations and challenges.

Staff at the stations visited congratulated Aina on his appointment and pledged their support for his administration’s vision.

They expressed optimism that the Registrar’s engagement with frontline personnel would strengthen communication between management and staff while creating opportunities to develop practical solutions to service delivery challenges.

The staff also reaffirmed their commitment to professionalism, teamwork and dedication to advancing JAMB’s mandate.
