Nigeria Hosts 73,000 Refugees- FG
Nigeria will on Sunday 18th December 2021 join the rest of the world to commemorate the 2021 International Migrants day. As part of activities lined up to celebrate the day,the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI),Lagos state government and International Organisation for Migration have signed a tripartite agreement for the takeover, refurbishment and usage of an Emergency Returnees Center in Lagos to be used for receiving arriving beneficiaries, temporarily accommodate vulnerable cases in need of shelter, family tracing for unaccompanied minors,cases requiring mental health and psychosocial support and victims of human trafficking.
At the occasion of the National Migration Dialogue Press Conferences in Abuja,the federal Commissioner NCFRMI, Hajia Imaan Suleiman highlighted various programs by the commission aimed at providing IDPs, Refugee’s and Migrants with durable solutions including hosting of about 73,000 refugees from different countries.

The theme for this year’s edition of the International Migrants Day is “Human mobility in the context of sustainable national development
