Nigerians have been advised on need to always cross check the website of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) before purchase of any mobile device. Director, Technical and Network Integrity, Engr. Bako Wakil who gave the indication in a short video posted on the commissions social medial platform said the gesture is to ensure the devices are type approved by the Commission. He added that the drive is part of the NCC efforts to prevent the proliferation of substandard mobile devices in the country. The Commission further restated it’s commitment to ensure only devices with the required standards are connected to the national network.
