Plans for the take off of a program tagged green imperative to address the challenges of agro processing and mechanization in the country has been announced by the federal government. The senior special assistant to the president on agriculture, Dr Andrew Kwasari gave the indication at a news conference in Abuja. He said the intervention which will inject direct investment of 1.2 billion dollars is expected to boost food production as well revive moribund machinery and assembly plants across the country. Meanwhile, the Director incharge of mechanization at the ministry of agriculture, Engineer Abdullahi Abubakar in his remarks highlighted modalities on how the facility would be accessed. It is expected that the initiative will complement the president Buhari administrations commitment to revolutionised the agricultural sector .
