Breaking News: Nigeria Read Riot Acts to Treasury Looters
As part of efforts to intensify fight against corruption and financial leakages, the Nigerian Government has directed all its agencies including tertiary institutions that are yet to be captured in the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) to immediately do so or face the full wrath of the law. The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed who read out the directives by President Muhammadu Buhari at her maiden news conference in Abuja said the move is to ensure transparency and accountability in the management of the country’s revenue. She said targets will henceforth be set for revenue generating agencies while sanctions would be imposed on those that could not meet their benchmark.
