The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled maintenance exercise on the Ikeja West/Ejigbo 132kV Transmission Line 1, expected to disrupt approximately 40 megawatts (MW) of electricity supply at the Ejigbo Transmission Substation.

In a public notice dated October 20, 2026, TCN said the maintenance would take place at the Ejigbo 132kV Transmission Substation from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20.

The company explained that the outage was necessary to enable its maintenance crew to carry out routine work on the transmission line. It added that the Ikeja West/Ejigbo 132kV Transmission Line 2 would also be taken out of service to provide a safe working environment for the crew.

According to TCN, the exercise is expected to interrupt approximately 40MW of load at the Ejigbo Transmission Substation during the four hour maintenance window.

However, the company said the electricity load serving the airport would be diverted to the Isolo Transmission Line to minimise the impact of the outage.

TCN apologised to customers of Ikeja Electric Distribution Company who may experience power supply disruptions during the maintenance period.
