EU Rollout N5b Project To Support CSOs In Nigeria
Civil Society Organizations are an integral part of every society. As drivers of societal, national and global growth and development, the role of CSO’s cannot be over emphasized. In Nigeria, CSO’s have continued to play effective roles in both human and national development. As the key drivers of the current Not Too Young to Run Act, Disability Act and various poverty alleviation and human capacity development programs running across the country, they have become a considerable force in the nation’s governance and democracy. In spite of all of these, the problem of management and adequate funding remain the major challenge bedeviling their operations in Nigeria. To this end, the European Union in collaboration with the British Council has earmarked 13.5million Euros under its Agent for Citizen-driven Transformation, ACT Programme to support the strengthening of civil society organizations in Nigeria.
